I got involved as an alumnae when I moved to Connecticut for grad school in 2017. I've since been involved with the Greater Hartford CT Alumnae Chapter, New England Zeta Day, and am the Financial Advisor for Lambda Alpha at Sacred Heart University. I'm currently going to grad school at the University of Connecticut where I'm pursuing my Ph.D. in Research Methods, Measurement, and Evaluation. I'm really interested in designing surveys and how we use numeric data from surveys and other measures to tell a compelling story. In my free time I swim for a Master's team, and like to hike, do yoga, and bike ride (if you have a peloton add me @hernanb3). I also love music, finding new restaurants, and my two cats, Bella and Theo!

I joined the Greater Hartford CT Alumnae Chapter in January 2020 and so far, it has been a wonderful experience connecting with fellow CT Zetas. Professionally, I'm a Certified Public Accountant in Connecticut and I work as an Assistant Project Manager at the Financial Accounting Standards Foundation (FASB). Prior to joining the FASB in January 2013, I worked as a Senior Auditor for Deloitte in Stamford, Connecticut. In addition, I previously worked at UBS Investment Bank and Florida Power & Light (FPL). I earned a Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Connecticut and B.S. in Business Administration with concentration in Accounting from Merrimack College. In 2004, I was initiated into the Kappa Omicron chapter at Merrimack College. In my spare time, I enjoy group exercise, hiking, traveling, and spending time with my yellow lab named Josie. Hope to see you at a sisterhood event soon! ZLAM
